    The New York school district is expanding its implementation of the top-rated Zearn Math curriculum as part of a district-wide Math Transformation Initiative. Beginning in fall of 2018, twenty-three RCSD elementary schools, serving ~19,000 students, will be teaching and learning with Zearn Math, up from fifteen schools during the 2017-18 school year.

    To understand students’ mindsets toward math, we surveyed 345,000 3rd through 5th graders and analyzed their self-reported responses along with their Zearn Math learning-behavior data. Results show that students who completed 90+ Zearn Math lessons were more likely to report a belief in their ability to improve in math and a love of math.
